D RESSES
OF
TRANSFORMATION
Caterina Bertolotto 2005-2006
During my recovery from surgery, I found myself
in a "dark forest", that couldn’t have been any darker. As my inner
experiences evolved from that time forward, I expressed my thoughts
and emotions in the Dresses of Transformation. I like to wear my
feelings!
Black Forest: My Home: This is
a place of recognition that all women are connected; they are of
the Earth and they are in pain (grandmothers-mothers-daughters-wives-sisters-aunts-nieces-cousins-girlfriends).
Women hold the threads of life together. The forest is a dark
place but if you keep staring in the dark, eventually you begin
to see. This leads to self-reflection.
Self Reflection:
I look at myself with no illusions. Women
have been measured and confused as they have been told what to
wear and how to feel, but who am I under all that judgment and
expectation?
Love at Arm’s Length:
Separation is essential to find one’s own truth. The two arms
are separate and the whole body is the love that brings them
together.
Tear Drop:
The lesson of love in relationships requires the shedding of
many tears.
Ode to Joy: At the end of
tears there is joy, and life! Water is life.
Snake Charmer:
When living your truth, you rise above the lies that have been
put upon you. You come to your passion, and following it takes
you boldly to create yourself.
Resurrection:
It takes you beyond, into the realm of what is both real and
invisible, "Beyond Good and Evil."
Metamorphosis:
You transform, realizing you need grounding and also wings,
earth and sky.
Many Eyes, One I:
You realize you are the only one who can say "I" although there
appear to be many "I"s! You cannot disappear into the crowd; you
are important and unique; you are a creator. Give voice to what
comes through you!
My Lips Are Sealed:
Knowing what I know, I walk on this earth with my Ego Lips
sealed.
Unlock Me!:
My power can be unleashed now!
Growth:
I can grow now in any direction life takes me.
Anchor:
I am an Anchor unto myself. Old beliefs and other people’s
opinions don’t push me around anymore.
The Song of the Universe:
I am my own Universe: I give to myself, and I give thanks.
Birth: I birth a new me from
my own realizations.
